Vertex Systems settle out of court with businesses using illegal pirated/cracked versions of Vertex BD software.
What are the risks of using pirated software?
When an individual or a business uses pirated software, it affects everyone in the industry. If the operator of a business is using multiple copies of the pirated software which they have not paid for, their overhead can be considerably less than of those who choose to do the correct thing by paying for the software. This creates an unfair advantage for others in the industry while stealing from the software company and infringing their intellectual property. It’s time to stop!
Here at Vertex Systems, we are chasing down those who are using pirated / cracked versions of our software. For the last couple of years, we have been actively seeking out users of pirated/cracked copies of Vertex BD software. Currently in China we have numerous cases in progress and have taken illegal software users and distributors to court. Some court cases have already been settled and Vertex Systems have been compensated accordingly for the illegal copies of the software which they have used to profit their business. Within Australia we have also been working with solicitors to approach those who have chosen to use cracked versions of the software to run their operations.
Our reason for this? Businesses who use or engage people who use the illegal cracked version of our software must be held accountable.
Together with our legal team we have identified many people and businesses conducting their operations using an illegal copy of Vertex BD software. With several companies already settling out of court and others heading to court, it is only a matter of time before those who continue to use illegal copies of the software are also called to be held to account. There are many other businesses and people here in Australia that are still being investigated and Vertex Systems will continue to hold them accountable for their actions.
If you suspect anyone of operating an illegal version of Vertex BD software, please head to the following site https://vertexcad.com/piracy/ and fill in the relevant details. You can remain anonymous if you wish. Our goal is to stop the illegal use of pirated software within the industry making it fairer for everyone to earn a living and to succeed.
"Vertex BD prefabrication software positions Uniplan Group for the future."
Built Offsite had a chat with Uniplan Group about their experience with Vertex BD.
“We did a lot of research into different options and Vertex BD was the clear choice. Its open-database fields made it easy for us to customise it for specific Howick machine requirements, but retain the flexibility to adjust it for opportunities as they arise. It’s very customisable,” said Operations Manager Jerry Scott.
